"We Are Nature - mural

"We Are Nature" is a mural created on a two story row home in Baltimore’s Broadway East Neighborhood. Dirk completed the mural in 2024.

“We Are Nature” is a visual reminder that we live in tandem with the life around us. The mural features the face of a young person immersed in a colorful procession of nature including some of Baltimore's flora and fauna. 

The mural was funded by ReBuild Metro and is installed at 1250 North Gay Street, Baltimore MD 21213

"The Magic Hour" - window installation

"The Magic Hour" was an installation in the window of The Central Branch of the Enoch Pratt Library System in Baltimore

The Magic Hour depicts an intimate moment, a father reading a book to his children as part of a bedtime routine. Nature Imagery and symbols float out of the book and into the air above them. One child is focused on the book and the other gazes at the floating imagery as they all huddle together. 

Dirk was awarded this commission in 2019 from EPFL.
